Apostle Seal
Design Objective: Illustrate the Seal of the Apostle for UCC. The Seal of the Apostle is comprised of seven elements. It begins with the sword at the top, which has dual representation as both the “sword of the Spirit” and as a symbol of authority. The crowned lion is representative of Christ as the “lion of the tribe of Judah.” Behind the lion is an open Bible, which represents the manifestation of the word of God. All of this is merged with a shield that indicates the apostle is chiefly a defender of the faith.
The Great Commission is the benchmark of Apostle Freeman’s ministry, from which he received his mandate for apostolic work. The globe shows the global ministry and reach of that mandate, and the water indicates the presence of the Holy Spirit.
